His complete name is Robert Emmanuel Pires. He was born on 29 October 1973 in Reims. Pires is of Portuguese and Spanish parentage. His playing position in the field is as a winger/attacking midfielder. Pires could play all across the midfield or in a place to support the striker(s) although he usually takes the role on the left wing.
